Gmail Spam Filter Builder

Drowning in junk from the same senders? Paste their addresses below. This builds a single Gmail filter that auto-trashes all of them — import it in one click, no software, no monthly fee. Add more addresses anytime and re-import.

Tip: in a junk email, the sender address is in the "From" line. You can also paste a whole domain like mailchimpapp.net to catch everything from it.

Free: paste this into Gmail's search bar → Show search options → Create filter → Delete it
(paste some addresses above)

Get the one-click import file

Enter your name and email and we'll unlock the download. We'll send occasional no-BS tips on wrangling your tools. Unsubscribe anytime (ours actually works).

How to import the file (30 seconds)

  1. Gmail → ⚙ Settings → See all settings.
  2. Filters and Blocked Addresses tab → scroll down → Import filters.
  3. Choose the downloaded .xml file → Open file → Create filters.
  4. Tick "Apply to existing conversations" to sweep what's already in there. Done.

To add more senders later: run this tool again with your full list and re-import, or just open the existing filter (Edit) and append OR newsender@x.com to the "from" box.

Cheat sheet: the stuff nobody tells you

Don't click "unsubscribe" on junk you didn't sign up for. On shady marketing lists, that link just confirms your address is live and read — you get sold to more lists, not fewer. Unsubscribe only from senders you actually trust.

Report Spam first, filter second. For a week, hit Report Spam (not just Delete) on the junk. That trains Google's own filter on the pattern and catches the rotating sender addresses these outfits use. Then add this filter as a backstop for whatever slips through.

Filter on words, not just senders, when they keep changing addresses. Put this in a filter's "Has the words" box to catch an entire genre of marketing spam:

keyword filter — tune to taste
"OTO" OR "one-time offer" OR "DFY" OR "WarriorPlus" OR "JVZoo" OR "bonus bundle" OR "limited memberships" OR "grab it all here"

Catching real mail by accident? Remove the broadest terms first. Prefer senders? Use from:(warriorplus.com OR jvzoo.com) to kill the payment-processor notifications these funnels ride on.

  • Delete vs. archive: "Delete it" sends to Trash (gone in 30 days). "Skip inbox + archive" keeps a searchable copy in All Mail — safer if you're nervous about false positives.
  • Filters can't Report Spam — that's why you train Google manually first.
  • One master filter with a long OR list beats 40 separate filters. Easier to edit, same result.
